Run with Roshni -a Mission- a Vision- a Dream !

Run with Roshni is a Brainchild of Roshni Rai, a Gorkha girl from a village known as Pedong in the District of Darjeeling, West Bengal. Roshni is Advocate by profession and currently she is working as Legal Executive with Colgate-Palmolive (India) ltd and she is based in Mumbai.

Her hobby is long distance running and she has participated in several ...Half Marathons (21km), Full Marathons (42km) and Ultra Marathons of 50km, 75km and 89km. She has represented India in the Comrades Marathon of 89km, which is also known as the Ultimate Human Race on 3rd June, 2012 in South Africa. She has dedicated the Comrades Marathon as tribute to all the Gorkha Soldiers, who have sacrificed their lives for mother India.

 Experiencing the Life in a Metro City of Mumbai, living and leading her life away from Home, many a times, she has faced identity crises, which all the Gorkhas are facing all over India. Whenever, she says, her mother tongue is Nepali, people assumed her to be a migrant from Nepal, when the fact is Nepali is already a recognized language under the Constitution of India and it is one of the Language mentioned in the Indian Currency.

 As a part of her ‘Landmark Education- Self Expression and Leadership Program’, she started her Community project “Run with Roshni” in August 2011. She supported 23 Gorkha Runners from Darjeeling to run Mumbai Marathon 2012, wearing t-shirts with the slogan “We are the Gorkhas, proud to be an Indian". The project got lots of Media mentions to highlight the long struggled Cause of identity crisis faced by Gorkhas, all over India.

 The People Supported Roshni and now her Personal call turned into the Mass Appeal, with the wider vision, with the higher reason. Here Roshni does not represent a Person. Roshni represents the Enlightenment, which will lead the Gorkha community in greater Heights and Wider Scopes in all areas of Life...to regain the Lost Pride with Positive Actions and Activities. Come Lets make it together...Lets set an Aim...Lets target a goal...Lets Run with Pride, Run with Honor, Run with vision...Run with Positive Energy, Run with Unity, Lets all…Run with Roshni ( Enlightenment )....there will be a day...when The world would shout, "GORKHAS...THAT IS WHY THEY ARE ! "

Gorkhas who can climb all the mountains will run for the enlightenment!!
